For City Council โ€” Ward 3
My Six Pillars
Ward 3 deserves a councillor who is present, prepared, and clear about the decisions being made. These six pillars set out how I approach the role.

A public process only works if people can understand it โ€” and see how their input is reflected in the decisions being made.

The Six Pillars

These principles guide how I work, and how I'll serve Ward 3.

1
Pillar One
Full-Time Commitment
This role deserves a full-time commitment.
This role deserves someone's full attention, not whatever's left over after a full client schedule. If elected, I'll step back from private consulting. But the work doesn't stop, it just changes who I'm consulting for. Ward 3 becomes the client, full-time, for four years.
2
Pillar Two
Transparency
Direct accountability, not just information.
I'll host four town halls a year across the Ward, open to everyone, as a direct channel for feedback. Some will carry a special focus, like community safety, so residents can dig into the issues that matter most to them.
3
Pillar Three
Knowledge
Proven, not promised.
Understanding how municipal government actually works, and being able to explain it clearly, isn't something I'm promising to develop in office. It's what I've been doing for months: breaking down Council agendas in plain language, and digging into the policy questions this Ward is facing before anyone asked me to. That's the standard I'll bring to the table.
4
Pillar Four
Community Focus
Present, involved, and connected.
I'd rather knock on a door than drop a flyer and drive off. Walking Ward 3 street by street is how I hear what's actually going on, not what shows up in a staff report. It's how I first heard about stormwater capacity concerns in this Ward, well before it became a talking point. I can't promise to fix every issue that comes up at the door. But I can promise to stay reachable, and to bring what residents tell me directly into the decisions I make.
5
Pillar Five
Civic Participation
Making it easier to take part.
Knowing what happened at City Hall isn't the same as being part of what happens there. Keeping residents informed is the City's job. Making sure they feel like real participants in the decisions that shape their Ward, not an afterthought consulted once the direction is already set, is mine. That means clearer processes, real opportunities for input, and follow-through on what residents tell us, not just a box ticked before a vote.
6
Pillar Six
Smarter Growth
Preserving the Commons.
Public assets, from City-owned land to strategic investments like our stake in GrandBridge Energy, belong to the people of Brantford, not to whichever Council happens to be sitting when a budget gets tight. I oppose one-time asset sales to plug short-term gaps, and I want the City looking seriously at how other municipalities are generating new revenue from what they already own: leased land, rooftop solar, infrastructure partnerships, before we ever consider selling what we can't buy back.

These principles are already reflected in my work.

Through the Environmental and Sustainability Policy Advisory Committee and my volunteer work with local youth programs, I stay connected to how decisions are experienced in practice โ€” and how they shape the community over time.
